Terms of use

Last updated:

These terms cover your use of energybench.co.uk and our free energy check. By using the site, you accept them.

Who we are

Energybench is a trading name of Sterk Digital Limited, a company registered in Northern Ireland, company number NI676988. Our registered office is Unit 1, 212-218 Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT4 3ET. Email: hello@energybench.co.uk.

What Energybench does

  • We offer businesses a free check of their energy rates, standing charges and contract terms against today's market.
  • When you ask for one, a specialist from Assured Energy, our energy procurement partner, calls you to talk it through.
  • We don't supply energy, and we don't arrange energy contracts ourselves. Any contract you agree is between your business and the supplier, arranged with Assured Energy on their terms.
  • There's no obligation. If you switch through Assured Energy, they pay us a fee. You never pay Energybench.
  • We can't promise that an energy check will find you a better deal.

Our information is general

Our guides, supplier pages and price figures are general information to help you understand business energy. They aren't financial, legal or tax advice, and they don't take your circumstances into account.

We check our pages carefully, and many show the date they were last checked, but rules, rates and suppliers' terms change. Before you act on anything, check it with your supplier, HMRC or a qualified adviser.

The average price figures on our business energy prices page are the government's, shown as published. They contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Asking for an energy check

Our energy check is for businesses. When you ask for one, you confirm that:

  • you're allowed to ask on behalf of the business you name;
  • the details you give are accurate;
  • any bill you add is one you're entitled to share.

Our privacy notice explains how we use your details.

Using the site fairly

Please don't:

  • send false details, or fill in the form for someone without their permission;
  • try to break, overload or get round the security of the site or the form;
  • copy the site's content in bulk, by hand or by automated means.

We may block anyone who does.

Our content, and other companies' names

The words, design and graphics on this site belong to us. You're welcome to link to any page and to quote short extracts with a link back to us. For anything more, please ask us first.

We name energy suppliers and other organisations only to describe them, and their names and trademarks belong to them. We're not connected with, or endorsed by, any supplier we mention.

We link to other sites, such as Ofgem, HMRC and suppliers' own pages, so you can check what we say. We're not responsible for their content.

  • the site being unavailable from time to time.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.
